People go to counselling for all sorts of reasons these days. It may be that life is tough at this present time, it may be due to issues from childhood, but whatever the reason for going the goal is always the same to make your life better in some way for yourself.

Some people know why they feel like they do others do not, in both situations a Counsellor can help. Counselling can help you to understand what is going on and help you to reach a better place.

Anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, low mood, relationship problems and /or divorce, bereavement, childhood trauma, childhood abuse, domestic violence, lack of confidence issues, these are just some of the reasons people get counselling, but remember the list is endless.

What is counselling?

Counselling is a type of therapy that involves talking about your feelings and emotions while in a confidential, safe setting. This time allows you to express how you feel right now with what is happening in your life.

It is sometimes the case where you feel worse about your issues when you start counselling, this can be because you have shielded yourself from your emotions on the issue for so long that it brings up pain and conflict at first. As we work through the counselling process you should see a change in yourself and ultimately it helps.

As your counsellor I will listen to what you say in each session and help you to decide what you want to do without judgement or offering my opinions in any way. This is your time for you.

How many sessions do I need?

I do not advise you on how many sessions you will need we work to your agenda, and it will also depend on what issues you bring to counselling.

I work in an open ended way so there is no set amount of sessions but we will work together and assess the situation every couple of sessions to see where you are going to make sure you are happy with the work we do together.
